Which Sport Will Play First (With Paid Fans)? Even if the four major North American sports leagues are on hold, you can still bet on them click here . The Entertainment odds board at press time has the NFL as the +120 favorite to play in front of paid ticket holders before the other three leagues; MLB is next at +160, followed by the NBA and NHL at +450. The offseason began in February, just before the coronavirus epidemic started spreading globally, so league officials are proceeding as normal, preparing a full schedule for 2020-21 that would begin with the annual Hall of Fame preseason game in Canton, Ohio – typically played in early August. Baseball could happen before then. The 2020 MLB campaign was supposed to begin on March 26, but had to be postponed because of the pandemic; with warmer weather on the horizon and lockdown restrictions starting to ease, outdoor games in front of small, socially distant crowds are being considered. Unfortunately for the NBA and NHL, those leagues are unlikely to resume their 2019-20 seasons anytime soon, and presumably wouldn’t get started for 2020-21 until well after the NFL’s Hall of Fame Game. In just 2 years since Sports betting was made legal by the Supreme court over $20 billion has been bet. The majority of that has been done online. Since Tennessee is about to have legal sports betting in July we were wondering what kind of numbers Tennessee will do. Tennessee has passed a weird hold law on winnings that can stunt it's growth but we are betting pun intended that it will still be very big.New Jersey bet in 2019 $4.6 Billion so I would be willing to bet Tennessee will do at least a billion in sports betting. This will bring in huge revenues to the state. Maybe it will wake up the law makers to actually letting a real casino or sports book open in Tennessee.

Tennessee knows that sports books and online casinos are chomping at the bit to get all the gamblers in Tennessee that have been waiting to bet on sports. So they are charging those who want in a hefty amount of $750,000 in licence fee's plus a tax rate of 20%. Compared to Indiana at $100,000 and Iowa at $45,000 we are high. But if you look at Illinois at a whopping $20 million and Pennsylvania at $10 million we aren't that bad. The sports books have already started applying for licences which means open for business very soon. The Tennessee lottery will approve or deny those applications and have 90 days to do so.

Go figure Tennessee will finally pass a sports betting bill then do something extremely stupid. As a matter of fact this rule is the first time ever this rule will be applied to sports betting. Tennessee decided to mandate that sports books hold at least 10%. This means you guessed it us living in Tennessee will spend a bigger VIG than other states. The Sports Betting and gambling mecca Nevada only charges a 5-6% hold.New Jersey charges 7%. So Governor of Tennessee Bill Lee decides on 10% at least 3% above other states. Not a very big incentive for ports gamblers living in Tennessee.
